Decomposing items involves turning armor and equipment into magic powder.
In order to decompose items you must first talk to the Production Principal in your Royal City as shown in the following two images.

When you do this, a new window will appear at the center of the screen. This is the decomposition screen. You'll notice that the box on theleft of this window is flashing, this is where you will click and dragan item from your inventory to in order to decompose it.

Simply click and drag the item from your inventory into the flashingbox and two more boxes will appear on your decomposition window, alongwith an amount of gold. The gold, at the top of the window in green, isthe amount of gold required to decompose the item that is currentlywithin the decomposition box. The center box contains the perfectpowder you will receive from decomposing the item. As you can see, theitem I placed into the box will decompose into 1-2 Perfect MagicPowders. The type and number of powders you will receive are dependentupon the level and any magic attributes on the item you are decomposingSee the chart at the bottom of the page for the level ranges for eachtype of magic powder.
Additionally, you may receive a random stone of a specific level, againbased on the level of the item being decomposed, when decomposing anitem. You have a 2%, or 1 in 50, chance of receiving the stone eachtime you decompose an item.

Finally, if you are satisfied with what you will receive fordecomposing the item, simply click on the 'Confirm' button at thebottom of the decomposition window to begin the decomposition process. A bar will appear at the bottom center of your screen showing the status of the decomposition process. Once the bar fills up, the decomposition process will complete and your equipment item will vanish, your gold will be deducted for the cost of the decomposition, and you will receive the spoils of the decomposition (Magic Powder and, if you're lucky, a stone.)
Equipment level requirements for different Magic Powders:
Level 1-12: Normal Magic Powder
Level 13-24: Fine Magic Powder
Level 25-36: Perfect Magic Powder
Level 37-48: Excellent Magic Powder
Level 49+: Fantastic Magic Powder
(The closer to the lower end of the scale for a type of powder you are, the less powder you will get for decomposing that item)
