Exp rate...

Hello everyone.

To make it short - my conclusion - and you can skip the rest of this text - Exp rate in this game, even with that bot implemented is really, really horrible.

Unless devs haven't planned everyone to bot 24/7 or lvl cap is on 50 i see no logical reason why me or anyone else should play this game. Please, don't consider this as flaming or something like that as i really think that this game has potential... BUT if all we are supposed to do is bot 24/7 (and even then it's a hell lot of time to lvl) all the way until the lvl cap... well, i think that most people who actually play games do it for fun - and (for me) it's not some fun if i have to leave my PC on for 10 days and do nothing else, just because my char in some MMO is lvling itself...

And let's say that some people will still stay and enjoy in botting all the way to reach the end game... i still have a few questions:
-what's that end game in [wiki]MWO[/wiki]? Is there any reason to leave my bot afk lvling for maybe few months to reach that cap?
-is there any, even slightest, possibility that we can have "normal" servers ~ without bot but with "normal", not frustrating exp rate?
Right now even with bot i'm about to give on the game already in CB. We are supposed to test the game but i really can't wait for next 60 days to reach lvl 50 with bot on all the time just to test how it looks like on lvl 50. I simply can't leave my pc on and do nothing else because this game is lvling itself "in testing purposes". Don't get me wrong, but this must be the most annoying CB i've wintessed and i played a quite few CB phases of many games.
Even if we(whoever decides to stay or join in the future) will still have this exp ratio in live version i don't think that some exp increase or something like that in CB would hurt anyone.
Right now with this lvling speed the CB phase will have to last 8years to test everything on all levels.

Just an example ; from 34 to 35 you need 2,8m exp. From 35 to 36 it raises all the way up to 3,8m. I guess that to lvl up from 40 to 41 you'll need like 30m exp with this (almost exponential) raise. And not only that but mobs give a lot less exp whenever you lvl and as usually you can't grind in your or higher lvl mobs so that makes it even harder to.

And please don't say "don't use teh bot", because it makes no sense. The bot in this game isn't optional - it's mandatory and it's pretty much impossible to play without it with current setup. I bet that for lvl 37 i'll need more then 5m... that would be great...
40-41 is actually only 14m

ah only 14m... that's nothing

... only... lol ;)

so to sum it up in next 3 lvls i'll need more exp then i got in all this time till 36. It's true that mobs give some more exp then before but still... from 2,8 to 14m in just 4 lvls, that's kinda steep curve ;o)

edit:
So my final conclusion about this game, even if it's still in early CB - i doubt that many things regarding this issue will change:
Devs have decided to try to keep the game alive as long as possible. To do that they've decided to make it hell hard to reach lvl cap - which isn't that weird in today MMO's. Instead of making the game "not that hard to reach the end game" with interesting stuff to do even when you almost end up with lvling - but for that you need interesting and good enough end game at the first place - which would keep people in the game even when they reach it.
What's definitely weird isn't that 8 months (random number out of my head) to reach the cap - but the way you have to do it - AFK for 7 out of that 8 months, with bot lvling your char. It may sound as fun and appealing to someone else, but i guess that i'm just not that type of "gamer".

And again, please don't take it as flaming as this game has everything one game is supposed to have - great living skills, housing, gvg and whatnot but with all stated above... and i'll repeat myself here - the bot is mandatory, unless you want to lack behind everyone else in that same gvg or whatever may people do on higher lvls.

Cheers

Just to add one thing

which could highly affect people who don't want/ can't bot 99% of their playing time.

Raise exp gained by quests. Right now it's that low that on my level (36) you can get more exp by killing 20 mobs (that takes like 2, maybe 3 mins at max) then by best quests on my level.

I'm not saying that we should be able to lvl up with doing ONLY quests all the way up to XX level, but right now you can get like 10% of your current level by doing quest (sometimes not even that much) which is depressing tbh.

Another suggestion, for CB phase only; important
Couldn't be that bad to raise exp rate or something like that in this phase so we can finish with CB sooner rather then later?
I for one don't want to wait for another 30 days (as i can't leave my PC on all the time) to get to 50 or so to test that "great stuff on lvl 50+".
So please consider this suggestion as it couldn't hurt anyone and would highly speed things up so we don't actually have to play 2,3 months, or maybe even more just to test things on higher level and get our char erased after that.

I can't see how could affect anything in a bad way - but rather help the game to reach the OB phase faster, because we'll be able to see what's working fine and whatnot on higher levels.
Right now all we are doing is pointless botting with only one purpose - to reach that lvl 50 or whatever lvl it may be and see what's going on at higher lvls(no offense but most people are AFK leveling 90% of their online time)

It shouldn't be so hard to lvl up in CB phase, afterall that's why most games have 2x,3x or higher exp rate in CB's compared to live versions.

Cheers and i really hope that you'll consider these suggestions.
well, some quests give better things. i'd rather have quests give more money, 2000 isn't enough. but exp rate is really good. just once you get eqs from one area then move on. add the first 2 2nd job skills into shops and it'll all be good. and also up drop rate for zerker books.

Just raise CB exp rate

Exp rate isn't really good. It's CB - we're not supposed to grind 24/7 because i'm pretty much sure that grinding isn't bugged.

Someone correct me if i'm wrong but all what's CB used for is to test the game stability/sort out bugs. i'll say it again because it looks like nobody gives a shite and people enjoy in their botting for whatsoever reasons - i can't really leave my PC on for bot to lvl up my char for next month or so, just to test some things after i get on that level.

What are we testing in this CB? In last 3 days i'm grinding at the same 2 spots. In next 10 lvls i'll grind on another 2 spots with bot on most of the time. If i'm not wrong neither bot or 'grinding' is bugged so what are we actually doing now? Pointless bot AFK lvling my char waiting to get to 50 or so just to get erased after some time. It may sound appealing to some of you but for me that's actually not really logical thing - not what closed betas should look like.

If you enjoy in botting that's great for you and i'm glad you do - but for gods sake all we are doing now is knowingly extending CB period without apparent reason to do so. I don't want them to raise our lvls automatically because every quest at every level should be tested (doesn't matter how pointless quests are atm - both in terms of exp and rewards).

And please fix those quests to be actually worthwhile doing - not everyone wants to bot 24/7 and you should take that into consideration.

Cheers and please consider this, if everything else fails go check out some other betas to see how the things should be done because this thing is driving me nuts.

Thanks for your suggestion. I agree with you that grinding is not the purpose of CB. Actually, this game has been tested in China for over 1 year by thousands of players and current version is quite stable. So maybe we don't need every tester to level up to 99, 40 - 50 in the end of CB might be enough.
Instead, we do care about user experience in the first 40 lvls, and we hope everyone can spare some time to test other systems like living skills, guild, instances, mount etc., as they are the distinguishing features of this game.
The spirit to serve...
It's ok then, i guess. I'm gonna stop lvling as it's too painful atm after lvl 38 and i'll focus on some of living skills or something else. You have mentioned instances ; where and what instances are in this game? I couldn't find any, firstly i thought that Skel hole is instance but i was wrong.

Now, i've got a few questions about crafting:
~ I'm just lvl 2 in smithing and almost lvl 2 in tailoring (can't find lvl1 mats lol) but i already like crafting, because i've noticed that you need recipes to craft higher lvl items. It works like that - you learn that recipe and you'll memorize it, right? No need to use it all the time, just once will be enough to learn how to make that item?
~ Can we make blue/yellow/etc items or they are just plain white? I really hope that there is some random chance to get somewhat good items through crafting, if not it completely kills it's purpose - and crafting skills are really nice made (from what could i see).

One question not related to crafting : what's the end game of MWO? What can we expect - gvg , massive RvR, anything?

And back to crafting, i think that this should be fixed (well, i really hope so...). If not someone tell me how am i supposed to gather mats there? lol

yeah i agreee
level 4-5 must craft at place hwere mobs are around

so can u move mobs to somewehre? Jane?

thanks
when will CB testers get compensation for leaving their comp on 24/7? If I have to spend 200 dollars to fix my comp due to overuse, I at least want some kind of earring on my character for Aesthetic Reasons ^_^

crafting questions - already answered

by myself ;)
Yes, you can craft blue/orange, even yellow items with crafting lvl 2+ (for some higher lvl eq you need formulas, which is also sexy :p)

And that second part is still lying in the air unanswered. How are we supposed to gather higher lvl mats if there are 4129 mobs next to us?
I know that higher lvl warrior can farm there without any problems but what with other people who aren't warrior class? lol, it's kinda unfair if it stays that way. Warriors will be the only one able to gather mats with so many mobs close. I on my lvl 38 mage would die in a few secs there and i'm like 6 lvls higher then those mobs.

Should we all make warriors to actually be able to gather mats or this issue will be addressed?

Cheers

exp rate

y cant just increase the exp rate for now??we can test better with higher lvls
im lv39 now, i dont think i be bother to playing more...
IGN: Corona [Empire]
hey zeljanica how do we do craftin..which npc to go nd where to get the recepies

@Xiolin

You can learn all crafting skills at relevant NPC's - like ;
tailoring - armorer
smithing - blacksmith
alchemy - medicine trader, etc

But tbh i wouldn't bother with crafting skills in CB if you don't want to go crazy in CB already. Check other post about tailoring - but who knows, maybe you'll enjoy in killing 1.420.568 mobs to raise it to lvl 5 ;o)

Anyways, you guys have fun with crafting because i'm done with it for CB.
does craftin givs gud items/equipments
yes, you can craft some really nice items but atm not really worth it with wipe coming and current drop rates. You can try it though, as i already said - you'll maybe enjoy in gathering that mats. Shouldn't take you too much to gather like 3.000 mats (that's just an estimate - lvl 1 to lvl 5). Good luck with it
