Well in all honesty it should be who ever does the greater % of damage gets the loot, and you only get a % of xp from how much damage you did to the mob. then as a team will count as 1 single % so everyone in team wil add to the team's % damage done vs some random noob trying to KS so you will always get loot and the greater ammount of XP with this setup. but I fear our Dev's do not know how to code the game this way if they do then WTF rofl get it done!!

How's about people below lv 25 cant be killed if they're unguilded,cause a lvl 30 can kill 25 in seconds.Newbies should get enough time to choose their own guild.Its hard being lvl 20 and roaming in sky city,risk of being Pk'd
I hate nubs,Money doesnt rule everythingm,Earth wasnt made for humans.
so anyone get a clue. you can't pk som1 10 lvls lower than you anyway so I'm totaly for free unguilded pking. you steal loot we pk you. get a guild , if you steal loot we war your guild. at this moment I really believe everyone that is against this is just a ninja looter. maybe if you were more than lvl 30 and had been in a boss fight were a damn newb came in and got the last hit and all the loots you worked for 2 hours, you'd agree . this is an exellent idea .

I totally disagree with your suggestion Jaigan...just as you have the freedom of choice to join a guild, I wish to retain my right to play guildless without a penalty being imposed for my choice.
Comments such as..."If you wish to be solo then that's ok if you are not an abusive player nobody will PK you'' are naive....all your suggestion does is give guild backing to those that already Pk for no reason other than they enjoy it.

I agree with Kalagaraz, this game is not about guilds...its about factions and if you pk your own faction then yes...penalties should be imposed.

I'm in agreement with you regarding the drops...it is annoying to work hard at getting monsters/bosses low just to have someone arrive and steal your kill/drop

Possible Solutions: Timeout system/Lootshare/Xp driven result
Timeout: Team enters Saint, another team is already there. New team is inactive/suspended until the first team finishes at which point the original team are automatically teled out eliminating campers etc. Waiting team becomes active.
Applicable to all bosses; no player can attack a boss if its already under attack by another team/player unless original player/team teles or dies.

Lootshare/Xp driven results: Drops are given to he/she who did the most damage. Although this seems alittle unfair (those with higher levs and better gears will obviously do more damage) it is counter balanced by the fact that similar levels generally train around/in the same area. Eliminates those drop in one hit lootstealers.

The above are probably previously offered/highly impractical and/or perhaps require major restructuring but didnt want to post without offering an alternative.

P.S Seriousphil...Regarding your opinion of those that are opposed to this idea, fortunately I negate all your generalistic criteria.

PK is not the solution to quarrels between players. Is a mode of play that should be toggleable for those that do not like it.

For KS, the first one hitting the monsters should take the EXP and items.
For loot steal, you can set a bot to autopick items.
Many bosses spawn in different spots, so you cannot camp them. For those that spawn in the same spot, that should change.

Actually bosses always spawn in the same spot, whether or not people move them is another matter so they can be camped easily.

The system should be that the player who gets the first hit and doesn't die before the boss dies, amd if they are near the boss when it dies should get the exp/drops, and so should the people in his/her team if they have one.
Heres an example of this method.

Player A, B, C, D, E have teamed to kill ogre boss. Player A goes in and attacks Boss first to lure it. While A is running around and boss is chasing B, C, D, E are busy attacking. When the boss dies player A gets the drops and all team mates share experience. Say that when the boss was about dead a new player Player Bot attacks and gets the last hit on the boss. Player A still gets the drops and his team gets the experience.

This would virtually stop a noob from coming in and killing the boss and stealing the drops, and stop bots from ksing because thats just as annoying and its not usually the players fault if the bot does it.

Another way as (I think someone suggested) would just be that the player who does the highest % damage gets the drops/exp. Either way would work =P

There's always the Guild Wars 2 method:
Everyone that stayed in the fight from the start and either attacked, or use skills over the monster or the allies during at leadt 50% of the battle should get drops and exp from the boss.

Something like an 'autoteam'.
I suggested free pk simply becuase I don't think they know how to code the game to allow the highest % of dmg done to mob to give xp/drops too. also They stuck to the Roman Empire theme when making the lore and class's so it's not un-common to see backstabbing and curruptness, which is why you can war guilds of the same nation. with all faction wars there is always inner conflict that could erupt into a civil war history prooves this. It's the players that are unchecked that tend to be the abusive ones AKA loot stealing and KS'ing that drives the majority of the players to either quit the game or outright PK them only to loose their gear and quit the game anyways.

This game is in fact about guilds not nations since well how many State wars you been too? I know my Guild is about the only ones other then a handful of randoms that show up to face a Zerg of Dynasty In the end it comes down to how much of a carebear each of you are. why play a PvP game when you can choose when to PvP? makes no sense where is the thril? and is it really a PvP game at that point? to be honest contested maps are not even contested since everyone can Scroll to City out before death. that's a blatant rip off when in combat All teleport items should be locked out

Level 50+ you will need a guild and a team to get anyplace as the bot sucks and just can't handle botting in higher level maps, lets see you solo there I give you 1 day of level 50 before you either buy 8000 plat to get uber gears or quit the game saying it sucks. lol you moan for your rights to be safe unguilded but the guilded are moaning for their right to be safe from unguilded it's a fight of personel preference and there are more guilded players then unguilded. Either way I don't care since I found a way around the Evil points thats legal and just as effective so have fun dealing with your loot stealers and KS'rs

Simply stating facts Jaigan. I signed onto this game with the Pk system and the Guild system the way it is as you did. I am not the one "moaning" to change it. I understand they are always seeking ways to improve MWO however, and should they choose to implement your method, I wont "moan" and whine over it.....I'll simply quit if i disagree with the changes, it is after all a game. To preempt you...I have spent both time and money on MWO.
Lastly...this game isnt about Guilds, in essence like all games, its supposed to be about having fun..too many people lose sight of that.
i disagree with this coz pking unguilded chars will cause the towdown of the community, beacuse most likely the unguilded ones are those who enjoy the game, are researching something for the game, kids, and those who just want to be alone...

so by doing this, it means u are forced to join a guild...
and nobody wanted to be forced by its own...
shoot to kill the nublies!!!

I have voted NO.
Dont forget you are from same nation so you should help eachother and always tray to cooperate. If he is boting on your training spot, try to move and find new spot, i have always found better spot as my the old one
My priority in this game is to lvl up and deafet as many enemies from other nation as possible and not to hunt poeple of my own nation.
Noone made this game to be guild oriented. It happens that the American server players tend to communize a lot in guilds. There has been unguilded high levels that had fun too, and a guild is a close community that's it. This is the second game I've joined a guild and has been a lone players over last about 10 mmos I played. I don't see any need to join a guild, but I see a benefit of joining guilds.
1) Mark person who hit first as "leader"
2) Keep track of how much dmg each player does

for(a = 0; a < amount_of_people; a++)
     dmg_check = (player[a]_dmg/boss_HP) - (leader_dmg/boss_HP);
     if(dmg_check > .35) //Someone did more than 35% more dmg then leader
            drop = player[a];
     else
            drop = leader;

You can substitute in any percentage value instead of 35% I just thought if you're doing dmg that's 35% more than the person who originally got the first hit you pretty much deserve the drop.

That's unfair, because those healers will never get anything.xD
When was the last time you saw a healer get a drop when multiple people are involved?  In fact unless someone is helping a healer I usually don't see them going after a boss in the first place considering the amount of dmg they do.

Healer can be very powerful just difficult to lv though ( not exactly, if Thra in genesis want to power lv a healer, he can make a top listed healer easily).xD

If leader set pick-drop in turn or ramdon in a group, of course healer can get drops.

when at low lv and without decent gears, healer is a must for almost everything.xD

Anyway i am too lazy to explain to a new player, just play more, read more, you will know more.xD

BTW , dont use stupid phrase like "When was the last time you saw....", i stated from very beginning and i can read Chinese, i saw a lot you did not see.xD
