Book drop rate.

If i'm being honest i think its far too low.  Reason being i'm lvl 38 pwning 600 lvl 30 mobs per hour for a lvl 28 book drop and i have had 2 drop in 3 hours.  It was even worse in the skeleton hole trying to get lvl 24 book.  I was killing about 1000 an hour and the books barely even dropped.  I think you need to setup some sort of system so book drops slowly gain a lower % drop rate depending on the level of the book.  I don't see why a lvl 24 book has a 0.01% drop rate.  

Just my opinion.

Day 3 of looking for my lvl 36 book. . . I've had 2 36 books drop for other jobs, in 3 days . . .

I agree wholeheartedly. After all we're suppoused to be testing to see if things work.... Sort of hard to do that when you can't get the skills to test.

I think book drop rates will end up being the reason myself, and others, will end up quitting the game.  It should not take 2+ days to find a book of the right lvl, only to have it end up being for a different class.

These books are required items for every person in the game. . . I can see low drop rates on anything above normal armor and weps . . but job skills?

How dare you guys to ask for such a thing? I think that it's fun to grind for 4 days to find a book or two, in CB. And grinding for 300hrs to get to lvl 5 tailoring is even better.

I just completely give up on CB until they decide to treat it as CB, not live version.

was just speaking with some people and most are about to give up at lvl 38-40. It's way too big pain in the arse just to do it in testing purposes - doesn't mean that we don't <3 you devs, but no way that i'm gonna afk lvl 24/7 in CB phase with no apparent reason to do so. I'll let you guys do it instad. One of you devs tried to actually 'play' (bot on lvl 40+ lol) in this game? Please, first try to do it, then imagine your chars deleted and you'll get the picture.

I think this game is great. I'm all willing to help test it. But I'M NOT willing to leave my pc afk 24/7 for next 20 days or so just to lvl up my char in CB which is going to be deleted. And many other people share my opinion.
You don't have to raise anything (drop rate, exp rate, any rates) but i'm not really sure that you'll see any lvl 50 or so any soon (maybe ever in CB).

You can always test it by yourselves anyways

ya its taking over a day to lvl after 41. and the exp needed it going up so fast it seems by lvl 44 its gonna take 2 days. 39-40 was 9 mil exp to lvl 41-42 is 22 mil exp to lvl. huge increase and the mob exp is pretty much the same. plus in beast camp its like impossible to survive for more than 10 mins becuase of those lvl 45 bosses. the bot runs into it even if u put on a recorded route. then the bot has to run back just to die in another 5 mins. lvling is very hard at this point and the map isn't favoring the bot. the tunnel maps the bot gets stuck alot so i stopped botting there. in the spirt tomb the mobs r too strong for me so i cant go there yet, hopfully at 42 i can. and the drop rates aren't good. i mean its closed beta the drops rates should be high so we can get the best gear we can so we can lvl up faster and test the game quicker to get it released. when it goes live then u can put it back to the way it is now cuase u don't want to make it top easy, but now u need to cuase its just taking too long. ppl r gonna get tired of it cuase the accs r just gonna get deleted so its pointless to them. so in other words make the game easier for us now so we can test everything and get the game into ob and w/e is next faster.

i could not found my skill book ... yet im but i could trade it with the other players so now i have skills but only 45 i don have yet and i have no clue where can i find it

Not everyone can leave their PC on for 24/7 - AND even in that case it'll take too long to lvl up after some point. Even if you DON'T WANT TO LVL you still have to leave your PC on 24/7 to test any kind of crafting in this game. I guess that when we get guilds you'll have to do another thing for 24/7 for your guild (gather guild mats or something like that). That's not that bad because the game is heavily focused on bot so when the game goes live i won't really mind leaving my PC on whenever possible.

But why should i or anyone else do it in CB when all that could be done like 10x faster if devs weren't too lazy to raise that CB rates we could simply finish this CB phase a lot faster... i don't know about you but i don't want to play CB for 3,4 months and then get chars erased.

@Devs, if you really think that there will be people left after some time leaving the bot on 24/7 for like 3 days just to get one lvl in CB i don't know what to say on that... anyone with right on his mind will simply give up, i know many people who will/already gave up on lvl 40 or so.

Zeljanica, I'm going to need you to calm the hell down and stop it with all this over the top hostility towards others.  You're dancing a very fine line between providing feedback and just flaming everyone and I'm certain that nobody appreciates you laying into the community or Ingle.

The drop rates and experience rates will probably be boosted for testing purposes, but obviously the final rates themselves are something that need to be tested.  You can't just set everything to ultra fast for closed beta because then you won't have any idea what a reasonable rate for OB is.

They will almost certainly boost rates, give out freebies and boost account levels for testing during CB, but they will do that once they have worked out what reasonable OB rates are.

If you're not prepared to play a beta testing game, then go do something else.  We have plenty of other testers willing to provide feedback - your hostility towards the community, however, is not appreciated.

I wasn't being rude (not to use some other word) to anyone who wasn't rude to me or someone else. That guy said that we should be happy because we should wake up at 5am just to take a quest and that it's ok with him (because it fits perfectly by his timezone) .... in the same post he said "don't be selfish". Imho that's more rude of him then me asking him to think twice before he says something "~moderated, i'll do it so you don't bother".

And no need appreciate or not appreciate anything i do or say here. I kindly apologize if i offended anyone (even if i have my doubts that someone else would do the same in this case).

@percy, i'm sorry if i offended you. And i'll even agree with you, hopefully that will make mods happy.
Exp rates are fantastic, EU people should be able to wake up at 5am to take a quest, if not they don't deserve to play this game.

@Chalky; FYA a few days ago Kane said that they don't plan to change exp rate in CB phase becase, check this out, "they don't want everyone to go to 50+ in CB, only few people will be enough". That are his, not my words. So if you aren't dev yourself i don't know who told you about that exp rate increase, which is if we can trust you, going to happen at one point.

Well, I wasn't going to moderate them in this thread, but they were moderated anyway by someone else.  Meh - consistent moderation FTW eh?  If someone's being an ass to you, feel free to PM one of us and we'll deal with it - but your posts in this thread really stood out as needlessly baiting the others and attacking the Devs.  It's been less than a week, give them a chance.

Although I have yet to speak to anyone about the specifics, it will most likely work in the same way as PDO.  EXP and drop rates will be increased and decreased until they work out what a good rate is for OB - I don't believe that Kane is saying that there will be no increase what so ever, he's just saying he's not going to boost everyone's exp super high for CB because the lower level testing will be neglected.

They will almost certainly boost selected accounts for systematic testing of higher levels and pre-release guide writing though, as they have done in the past.  If the book drop rate is unreasonably low currently (as I believe it is), I expect we will see an increase during CB.

I shall see if I can get some official feedback on the situation.

heh, nope. My posts aren't being moderated anywhere, this is actually the first time it happens and that's what made me less then happy ;o)

And about that pms and things like that. Well, i don't really want to fight(argue) with anyone without being really, but really annoyed that much that i can't resist anymore. And pms are usually ignored by some people so... anyways, as i already said i don't think that i ever start with fight and even if i did it it has to be a pretty dam good reason to do so. I don't like to fight, but if someone bites me i bite him back, simple as that

Regarding that devs thing... well, i wasn't rude or anything even close to that, imho.
I'm just stating the facts, someone may not like it but that's what i was doing.

~We asked for exp raise : devs said no. Now you tell me that i should make a wild guess what's going on in their minds and that they will actually raise it even if they already said no to that? I'm afraid that i can't read other peoples mind ;)
~We (me and some other people interested in crafting) asked for higher drop rate of crafting mats, if nothing else. They haven't even answered on that one for 2 days already... and they pop up here from time to time and still bother to post in some totally irrelevant topics.
I don't want to sound more 'relevant' or important then anyone else, but seriously, if they have time to answer to some "omg my wep failed" topic  why should it be different on this matter? Simple yes or no would be enough so we can know what to expect. I think that i'm not asking too much, right?
That's what's bothering most people here... it's not like we hate the game or devs, lol.
I think that nobody would actually bother to even post in this forums if he doesn't think that this game has potential.

I like this game, i really do and that's why i'm trying to figure out a thing or two here and there. But i really, sadly can't do it atm because with my free time (and can't leave pc on for 24/7 either) i'm afraid that it wont be possible to do anything above this lvl anymore, before the end of CB phase.

iam lvl 36 now and still dont have any skill past lvl 22 due to the fact i cant get sb.

totally agree.. even on chinese server i never have this much trouble looking for skill book... i have been in skeleton cave from level 20 to 36.. and i have only get one level 24 skill book.. 3 days..,...   

while back on chinese server it was around 1/day atless...

i don know; in this closebeta 2 ; in 3 hours i found skill book 24 warrior and my friend in 2 days; he found 2 skill books archer already.

so i think its about lucky if u spend more than 1 week. i think u should buy it from players later or trade it.
